Whether it's providing tools to put a purple octopus on the moon, or enabling teachers to bring arts-infused learning into the classroom, Crayola is passionate about helping parents and educators raise creatively alive children who we believe will grow to be inspired, original adults.

Our company has inspired artistic creativity in children for more than 100 years - since the first box of Crayola crayons rolled off the assembly line in 1903. The company began when cousins Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith took over Edwin's father's pigment business in 1885. Early products included red oxide pigment used as barn paint and carbon black used in car tires.

After noticing a need for safe, high quality, affordable wax crayons, in 1903, Crayola produced the first box of eight crayons and sold them for 5 cents.

Since then, the Crayola brand has grown into a portfolio of innovative art tools, crafting activities, and creative toys that give kids the power to express all that inspires them as they explore, discover, play, pretend, and dream.

In 1984, Crayola became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hallmark Cards and has since played a significant role in Hallmark’s personal development strategies.

The company carried the name of its founders, Binney & Smith, until 2007 when we changed our name to Crayola to reflect our No. 1 brand.

Crayola has called Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, its home since the turn of the century. Today, the company's world headquarters and major manufacturing facilities are located there. Downtown Easton is the home of The Crayola EXPERIENCE®, our interactive brand experience where families can enjoy a day of creative fun and see how we make our iconic Crayola crayons and markers.

Run for the shelves and grab your old box of crayons, because there's a new way to color your world with Crayola crayons! Our Crayon Melter brings renewed life to Crayola crayon sets everywhere with melted crayon artwork that's easier than ever before to create. Now you can make Crayon drip art without a hair dryer. This fun crafting tool is a great way to add detail to your drawings, texture to your sculptures, or doodles to your pencil jar. It has a low-heat tip and dries cool, so it's safe for kids 8 & up to enjoy. Simply use the included wrapper-ripper to remove labels from crayons and insert a crayon into the heated melter unit to get started. If you plan to change colors and wish to avoid color mixing, wait for the Crayon Melter to cool down and clean it between colors. My Review:
Hot new toys from Crayola that will be on every child's holiday wish list! As a mom of four, I definitely know by now that something Crayola will be on at least one, if not all of my children's holiday wish list. With that in mind, I always pay close attention to anything new from Crayola, especially close to the holidays.

This year Crayola has a few new items, but the two that really stood out to me are their new Crayon Melter and Scribble Scrubbie Pets! Scrub Tub Playset. Crayola's Crayon Melter brings renewed life to Crayola crayons everywhere. Having four kids in the house we have a few tubs of old crayons, so I love that this gives us a new way to use them to create some amazing artwork! It has a low-heat tip and dries cool so kids 8 and up can use this with minimal supervision. Simply use the included wrapper-ripper to remove labels from crayons and insert a crayon into the heated melter unit to get started. My kids absolutely love using the Crayon Melter and have already created some fun artwork.

Scribble Scrubbie Pets! Scrub Tub Playset is a dream come true for my kids! They absolutely love that they can draw and color on the included pets and then give them a good scrubbing and do it all over again. They have been coloring and playing with their pets non stop and I have to say this would make a terrific gift for any child that loves pets!

Crayola's Crayon Melter and Scribble Scrubbie Pets! Scrub Tub Playset is sure to be a huge hit this holiday season so be sure to grab them now while you can find them!
