Thames & Kosmos Ultralight Airplanes and Pixel Stitch Embroidery Review - #HGG

Thames & Kosmos was founded in 2001 by a science museum director and her son, who saw the great need and demand for better science education materials — resources for parents and their children that are more engaging, more effective, more relevant, and more fun.

Thames & Kosmos operates as the exclusive arm of parent company, Franckh-Kosmos Verlags-GmbH & Co. KG — Kosmos for short — based in Stuttgart, Germany. Founded in 1822, Kosmos operated solely as a book publisher until the 1920s, when the company published its first science kits aimed at explaining the world of science to children and young adults by bringing it to life with hands-on experiments.

Generations of European children have discovered their enthusiasm for science through Kosmos science kits. Since 2001, Thames & Kosmos and Kosmos have teamed up to develop science kits for children in the United States and other English speaking markets around the world.

Build and fly five experimental gliders!

Construct awesome flying gliders with ultralight plastic and bamboo parts. Build five different types of planes with different wing configurations to learn how wings provide lift and how planes stay up in the air.

My Review:
Thames & Kosmos Ultralight Airplanes is an incredibly fun project to do with your kids! My kids absolutely had a blast learning all about how wings provide lift and how planes stay up in the air. As a home schooling mom I really appreciate products like these that not only encourage kids to have fun creating the planes but also learn about them. My girls were able to make these planes with ease and really enjoyed playing with them and learning all about flight. This was a terrific activity and would make a terrific gift this holiday season!

Make cool pixelated designs with needle and thread

Design a pixelated picture and cross-stitch embroider it onto two pieces of felt using four colors of embroidery thread and a needle. Sew the two pieces together into a small bag, and secure it using an elastic cord loop and a cool button. Add colorful beaded accents to complete your creation. The kit also gives ideas to embellish everyday objects and recycled materials with colorful embroidered designs. Learn what computer screens and needlepoint pillows have in common.

My Review:
Thames & Kosmos Pixel Stitch is so neat! My seven year old has been wanting to learn how to use a needle and thread and this is the perfect kit for doing just that. It's incredibly fun and also educational which is something I truly appreciate. My daughter was able to make a cute little bag and decorate it all by herself. She was so proud and loves showing family and friends what she was able to make all by herself. This is an awesome gift for any little girl this holiday season although it could also be a neat project for boys as well!
