Crayola Cling Creator Review - #HGG

http://www.crayola.com/

Whether it's providing tools to put a purple octopus on the moon, or enabling teachers to bring arts-infused learning into the classroom, Crayola is passionate about helping parents and educators raise creatively alive children who we believe will grow to be inspired, original adults.

Our company has inspired artistic creativity in children for more than 100 years - since the first box of Crayola crayons rolled off the assembly line in 1903. The company began when cousins Edwin Binney and C. Harold Smith took over Edwin's father's pigment business in 1885. Early products included red oxide pigment used as barn paint and carbon black used in car tires.

After noticing a need for safe, high quality, affordable wax crayons, in 1903, Crayola produced the first box of eight crayons and sold them for 5 cents.

Since then, the Crayola brand has grown into a portfolio of innovative art tools, crafting activities, and creative toys that give kids the power to express all that inspires them as they explore, discover, play, pretend, and dream.

In 1984, Crayola became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hallmark Cards and has since played a significant role in Hallmark’s personal development strategies.

The company carried the name of its founders, Binney & Smith, until 2007 when we changed our name to Crayola to reflect our No. 1 brand.

Crayola has called Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, its home since the turn of the century. Today, the company's world headquarters and major manufacturing facilities are located there. Downtown Easton is the home of The Crayola EXPERIENCE®, our interactive brand experience where families can enjoy a day of creative fun and see how we make our iconic Crayola crayons and markers.

Complete Clings in Just 15 Minutes

Kids will love how easy it is to use the Cling Creator to create custom clings all on their own. Labeled color mixing pots make it easy to pour the correct ratios of color and firming solution. Once you pour the liquid cling solution into the mixing pot, drop the pot into the mixing chamber and blend it using the fun mixing mechanism. Then pour the solution into the molds and let your clings solidify. The process only takes 15 minutes.

Design Your Own Mold from Clay

In addition to five pre-made double-sided molds, the Cling Creator comes with clay you can use to create your own mold designs. Use the included drawing tool, a stamp, or a toy to make impressions in the clay where you'll pour your cling solution. Kids get to experiment to see how different shapes create different kinds of molds.

Make up to 20 Clings

With enough color and firming solution to create 20 custom clings, the Cling Creator provides hours of creative entertainment. Specially designed storage nooks for the solution tubes, mixing pots, multi-purpose tool, and molds mean you won't have to worry about misplacing anything. Refill packs of additional color and firming solution are sold separately.

Decorate Your Window, Mirror, and Locker

Apply your custom clings to flat, smooth surfaces like windows, mirrors, and even metal lockers. The clings stick for as long as you want. When you get tired of your old designs or want to show off new ones, simply remove the previous clings. You can also reposition the clings if you accidentally apply them unevenly, and you never have to worry about cling residue or stains on surfaces.

Package Contents
Cling Creator with clay mold, bar of clay, clay smoothing tool, de-molding/drawing tool, five double-sided molds, four mixing pots, three color mixing tubes, and six finishing tubes.

My Review:
My kids absolutely had a blast with the Crayola Cling Creator! They loved designing their own molds from the clay in the Crayola Cling Creator kit. They used a few toys from around the house to imprint in the clay and create clings that looked just like a few of their toys. Another fun part of the process is mixing the colors to really customize your cling. Once you mix together the solution simply pour the solution into your mold and wait about fifteen minutes for your Cling to be ready. I really love that these are sticky like stickers and can be stuck to many smooth surfaces but don't damage anything like stickers do. The whole process of creating a Cling is a blast and my kids enjoyed the entire process. This would make a terrific gift for the holidays!
